There’s been no Premier League action for 2 weeks now, and it’s time to bring the cheer back. Injuries have plagued most of the big guns from top clubs due to international games last week, but there are still those who are ready to give it their all. Our picks for Gameweek 9 are listed below :
Boaz Myhill (4.7) retains the prime keeper’s spot this week due to the home clash with Sunderland, who have not been able to fire in any goals since the last two away games. 2nd best in the game currently after Gomes.
Alternatives: Huerelho Gomes (4.6) has been retained from last week due to his impeccable form from last week after saving a penalty and racking up a couple of bonus points. The top keeper in the game is on the bench this week due to a tough fixture against the Gunners.
With Vincent Kompany (6.2) returning to training after his injury, should slot straight into the starting lineup this week, given the amount of clean sheets City have been dropping due to his absence.
Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin'(5.7) faces Watford away from home. His marauding runs down the flank is his main forte’, which also makes him a bonus point magnet. Norwich defender Russell Martin (4.6) is our next pick who faces Newcastle away and has an amazing aerial threat, just like the City Captain.
Browning (4.0) and Hangeland (4.3) keeps our bench warm thanks to their low price which helps us bag some in-form midfielders this week.
With Aguero out of the picture for a whole month, a lot will be riding on the shoulders of City’s record signing Kevin DeBruyne (10.4). Scoring and assisting in the recent international against Israel, his form is right up there and will most likely be the focal point for City’s attacks. Our next pick – Alexis Sanchez (11.3) did even better in the internationals, scoring twice and assisting once against Peru. He will be undergoing a late fitness test, but his attitude towards the game is sure to see him start.
Swansea’s Andre Ayew (7.2) scored in the previous gameweek. But it’s his consistency that makes us pick him this time. He’ll be facing Stoke City at home, who have conceded 19 goals already away from home. West Ham’s Dimitri Payet (8.1) is another one of those consistent types who has contributed 23 key passes over the last 4 gameweeks and his always in the bonus point zone. Victor Wanyama (4.3) of Southampton will be on our bench for his lucrative price.
What can we say about this bloke. He just keeps scoring every week and defies all odds of his previous season’s form. Jamie Vardy (6.7) is a must have in your team.
The 5 star Aguero of last week would be a sure shot pick this week, but unfortunately he’s been ruled out with a hamstring injury for a month. in his place, we’ve gone ahead with Daniel Sturridge (10.6) to do the dance for us. With new ‘heavy metal’ manager Jurgen Klopp pulling the strings now, he’ll be sure to give us something, even against a tough Spurs team.
The last pick this week had to be the in form Graziano Pelle’ (8.2). Southampton have a really good and easy run of fixtures and is sure to carry on his goal scoring form, after scoring for Italy too this week.
