Gameweek 6

Watford’s Gomes (4.5m) gets handed the keeper’s gloves this week, after securing an impressive 3 clean sheets and 5 Bonus Points in his last 4 games. The keeper has been in top form for the Hornets, and will be looking for another clean sheet against a frail Newcastle side that hasn’t scored a single goal since opening day.

Alternatives: West Brom’s Myhill (4.5m) has been in equally good form with 3 clean sheets and 6 Bonus Points in his last 4 games, and will take on Villa on the road this week.

FPL’s 2nd top scorer Kolarov (5.9m) retains his spot on our team after another excellent showing that got him maximum bonus points again. The full back has been in stunning form this season, with 1 goal, 5 clean sheets and 10 bonus points to his name already. City take on West Ham at home, and should have no problem getting another clean sheet, seeing the form they are in.

Watford’s Cathcart (4.5m) and Liverpool’s Gomez (4.8m) take on relatively easier opposition this week, as they take on Newcastle and Norwich. Though Liverpool have been shaky at the back lately, we expect them to shore up their defence and pick up a clean sheet this time.

Francis (4.5m) and Targett (4.1m) are our last two picks in defence, as they take on Sunderland and Manchester United at home. The Saints have picked up 3 clean sheets in their last 3 games and might just be able to hold up against a demotivated United side that lost their midweek Champions League fixture.

Alternatives: Manchester City’s Sagna (5.2m) is our first alternative as he offers a cheaper entry into their back four. Another player to consider is Manchester United’s in form full back Darmian (5.7).

Leicester’s Mahrez (6.3m) had another excellent game last week, taking his tally to 4 goals, 2 assists and 12 bonus points, making him the current top scorer in FPL. The Algerian winger will give a tough time to Stoke’s back four this week.

Sanchez (11.0m), Ayew (7.3m) and Sako (5.6m) all drew blanks last week, but will be sure to make an impact this time around. Expect all three to chip in with goals or assists this gameweek.

City’s main playmaker Silva (10.2m) is back in action after missing out last week with an injury. With the silky Spaniard pulling the strings from midfield, we expect a barrage of goals at the Etihad again.

Alternatives: Manchester United’s Mata (8.6m) has picked up a goal and assist in his last two games and could pick up an assist as they take on Southampton this week. Another alternative to consider is Everton’s Barkley (6.8m) who made his mark with 2 assists against the champions last week.

The league’s joint top scorer Wilson (5.9m) is our first pick up top, as he takes on a a shaky Sunderland side, who have already conceded 11 goals in their first 5 games. Next up is Benteke (8.5m), who’s beast goal sent Old Trafford into shock last week. The Belgian powerhouse takes on Norwich at home, and we expect him to absolutely terrorize their back four.

Finally, Aguero (13.2m) picks up the final spot in spite of drawing blanks in his last 3 games. We all know how quickly he can turn the tide in his favour, and with Silva back in action, we can be sure that he will hit top form real soon.

Alternatives: Leicester’s Vardy (6.2m) is an excellent alternative to consider, after picking up 2 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 games. Another option is Swansea’s Gomis (7.5) who takes on Everton at home this week.
