Final three gameweeks of the season! Cannot believe that the entire season went past us in the blink of an eye. This is also the time to make the final push and gobble up as many points as possible for your team, so be very careful while nominating your team’s captain. Here are our top choices for the coveted armband:
Alexis Sanchez (11.4) may have missed out on the chance to lift the title in his debut season, even more so after the amount of contribution he has made to the team. But the silver lining being, now that Chelsea are confirmed table toppers for the season Sanchez appears to be more relaxed with his game. In the last encounter against Hull City, Sanchez score twice and managed 8 goal attempts, 63% of which were taken from inside of the box. His recent form reveals an average 7 PPG and 5.33 Goal attempts, 2.3 of which were taken from inside the box. Arsenal face Swansea city at home this weekend which is a fixture which everybody expect Arsenal to win given their recent form in the league. Alexis might have a huge role to play in that game so watch out for him
Sergio Aguero (12.7) scored last week as well to extend Manchester City’s run of wins to 3 consecutive games and his own streak of scoring four times in as many consecutive games. Aguero has maintained an average of 8 PPG in his last four games, as a result of the recent resurgence in form. Opponents this week are QPR, a team which have become sluggish defensively of late. QPR conceded 14 goal attempts on average, 6.67 of which were conceded inside the box. If QPR continue with such a display at the back expect a talisman striker such as Aguero to latch onto those loose balls and put it at the back of the net!
Our final candidate for the captain’s armband is Christian Benteke (7.8). Benteke recent form could be inspired by the new manager but without doubt, the Belgian international has no lack of talent up front. Fantasy managers riding the Benteke train have been the happiest lot in recent times as their player has scored 10 goals and 1 assist in his last 8 appearances for Aston Villa. Villa travel to London this weekend to face West Ham United as although their performance on the road has not been very impressive, they can rely on the recently earned credentials of Benteke to help them win the game comfortably.
