Captain: Gameweek 33

Not a very interesting gameweek in terms of the matches being played (except between Manutd and Chelsea) but this could be considered a strategic gameweek as well as Arsenal and Liverpool both play 2 games in the next week. So it is very important that you make sensible transfers this week..

My first pick for the captain’s armband would be Eden Hazard (11.3). Hazard has not got the atention that he deserves of late, but the Belgian international is slowly starting to make a mark in the teams of fantasy managers with 44% of them owning him. Hazard has been in decent form in the last few games, and this weeks mouthwatering fixture will be the right time for him to kickstart his end-of-season fireworks! with an average PPF consistently hovering around 7 in the last few game weeks, captaining hazard could be a safe choice to say the least.

Sergio Aguero (12.5) managed a brace in last weeks Manchester derby but his effort ended in vain as his team was beaten convincingly by a much better opposition. The chips are low for Manchester city, the moods are in the dumps; and if there is anyone who can turn things around for the reigning champions, it would be Aguero. With last week’s performance, Aguero form averages 6.25 Goal attempts, 3.75 Shots inside the Box out of which 1.75 were on target, and also 1.25 key passes per game. All this points to the obvious – if Aguero is not your captain, at least have him in your team guys.

Finally, we nominate our third captain choice. Harry Kane (6.5) may have finally come to the end of his wonderful streak of games, but before we write him off completely, it would make sense to give the young English lad one last opportunity this weekend as Spurs come up against New Castle. This time let us specifically focus on New Castle and analyse the chinks in their armour. The Magpies have conceded an average of 2 goals per game in the last four game weeks, and have also allowed the opposition teams to take an average of 13 shots on goal, 7.75 times from inside the box. His points tally from the last four games may not account in his favour, but having Kane in your team makes sense for one last week especially because of the reduced fixture list.
