We have a lot of Fantasy Football action headed our way, with 3 busy game weeks packed into the next 7 days. So lets kick it off with the all important Captain’s choice for GW27:
Sergio Aguero (12.9), without any shred of doubt, is our obvious 1st choice for handing the captain’s armband to this week. The agile Argentine was a bit slow to get off the mark after returning from injury, but has picked up his game off late, and how. His last 4 games have been quite profitable for fantasy managers, with a decent average of 7.5 pts / game, while averaging an impressive 4.3 Shots on target per game. Confidence is something he is won’t be short of, after scoring a crucial goal against Barcelona in their midweek fixture. And with the Liverpool defence being stretched out over 120 mins against Besiktas on Thursday night, we can expect Aguero to torment their back 4 and get on the scoresheet to lead the race for the Golden Boot.
Angel Di Maria (9.5) has been in the news for all the wrong reasons off late, but what you can’t deny is the former Real Madrid winger has now picked up 4 assists in his last 4 games, and is currently sitting 2nd in the assist charts with 10 assists, having overtaken the likes of Tadic, Sigurdsson and Hazard on the way. The versatile number 7 seems to be getting in to the groove nicely, and a big haul against Sunderland at home doesn’t seem all that unlikely, seeing how Manchester United’s strikers seem to have forgotten where the goal is lately.
Papiss Cisse (5.4) is our budget friendly punt option for the captain’s armband if you’re in a particularly risky mood this week. Cisse has scored 1 goal in 2 starts after returning from the AFCON, but what really tips the scales in his favour is the fact that he will face off against a leaky Aston Villa side, that has conceded a whopping 11 goals in their last 4 games alone. Also it might surprise you that Cisse has scored his 10 goals in just 836 minutes this season. That’s an impressive average of a goal per 83.6mins!!! Also, he has got on the scoresheet in 5 of the 6 matches that he has started this season. Doesn’t seem all that risky now, does it?!
